Extreme MakeOver School Edition!  Practical Strategies for Modifying the Educational Environment to Increase Understanding and Decrease Challenging Behaviors for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

This fast-paced session will show numerous, practical, and easy to     implement strategies for immediate use to modify the educational environment to increase student understanding of environmental expectations, and task expectations within various school environments.  Use of these strategies has shown to decrease the occurrence of challenging behaviors in students with autism spectrum disorder, by increasing their comprehension and understanding of various school environments.  Positive student behavioral change will be fostered through curriculum and environmental accommodations and modifications by implementing the instructional strategies shared in this seminar.

Evidence Based Strategies for Enhancing Social Skills and Teaching Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder

This informative and exciting presentation will discuss systematic techniques for teaching students with an autism spectrum disorder.  Teaching specific skills (including social skills),enhancing motivation, and generalization training will all be provided using step-by-step demonstrations with real, current examples.  This presentation  will discuss techniques applicable to students from early elementary to adulthood, with Asperger's as well as students severely challenged with Autism.   

The Following Professional Development Hours Offered :  

(1) Optional Graduate credit available through Marian University.  Cost of $250 per credit and up to 3 credits available for the conference. Payment for graduate credits can be made at the conference.  A syllabus with course requirements is available at
