National Caregiver Training Program

This course helps family caregivers acquire the skills needed to provide safe, confident home care for frail older loved ones.  Topics include caring for someone on bed rest, personal care, infection control, medication management, taking vital signs, wheelchair use, fall prevention, reducing caregiver stress, local resources, and more.  Hands-on practice included. 

 

Each participant receives Quick Tips for Caregivers for home reference.

 

Course is open to Boulder County residents caring for a relative, partner, or friend age 60 or over (or of any age if the person has dementia).  There is no fee; donations are welcome.  Financial assistance for respite care is available.  Pre-registration is required, at 303-678-6116 or InfoCaregiver@bouldercounty.org.  Enrollment is limited.
