Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA) Hotline Volunteer Training

Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA) is seeking counselors to serve on their hotline and who may accompany survivors to the hospital and police interviews.  Training is 40 hours of intensive education on the psychological, medical and legal aspects of sexual assault, as well as all forms of oppression and how they are interconnected.  Crisis intervention and counseling skills are developed through discussion, role-plays, and feedback.  This looks great on a resume. Our shifts are very flexible and all you need is access to a private phone while on-call. Bilingual Spanish-speaking counselors and individuals who have experience working with people with disabilities are needed!

About MESA: We are moving to end sexual assault and the suffering it causes in our community.  We believe every person has the right to live free of sexual assault.  We challenge all forms of oppression and recognize their connection to sexual violence.

Fall Hotline training starts September 24 , 2012
