OVERNIGHT RESIDENTIAL COUNSELOR

GENERAL PURPOSE:   The purpose of this position is to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of the developmentally disabled consumers at the 19th Street Group Home throughout the night. Duties include administration of medication, attending to personal needs, completing necessary documentation, cleaning the house, and assisting consumers in morning preparation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•Provide necessary direct care services between 11 p.m. and 9 a.m..
•Performs cleaning tasks as indicated on the overnight checklist.
•Consumer priority; medication, repositioning, dressing, programs, personal hygiene, staff communication.
•Completes documentation including; overnight checklist, flow sheets, incident reports, seizure reports, applicable forms and paperwork.
•Arrives for shift at scheduled time.
•Oversees operation of group home when assigned.
•Attends all required meetings including staff meetings.
•Deals effectively with crisis situations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•2 years of college or 2 years experience in related field preferred.
•Possess a valid Colorado driver's license.
•Demonstrated skill in working with adults with developmental disability.
•Ability and willingness to safely lift 50 lbs.
•Willingness and ability to respond to emergency situations at the house as they arise.
•Ability to drive a large van with wheelchair lift.

HOURS PER WEEK:  20-40
