CORE COUNSELOR

GENERAL PURPOSE:   To facilitate day program activities through CORE. Instructors are assigned to facilitate or teach classes, follow established curriculum and supervised consumers .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Support consumers in day program activities.
• Teach consumers as scheduled, according to Individual Service and Support Plans.
• Provide for transportation as scheduled by driving vehicles owned by Imagine!
• Complete all forms for data collection and reporting requirements.
• Communicate pertinent issues with other team members via electronic mail system.
• Supervises participating staff and reports to concerns to Program Coordinator.
• Monitors and reports on all data on to ensure compliance with Federal, State, County and Municipal statutes, regulations and rules, and Imagine! Policies and Procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Attend to consumer’s personal care as required

OTHER DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Actively engages as a team member of Imagine! Day Services. Attends meeting as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability and willingness to engage in skilled interaction with people who require behavior development to replace aggressive behavior.
• Ability to lift 50 - 75 pounds on a regular basis, and to work in a standing position for 3 - 4 hours each day.
• Ability to maintain detailed records and reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at differing levels in the community and in business.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to meet or exceed Imagine!’s driver record requirements.

EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
