This workshop will teach participants not only what makes for solid, measurable IEP goals, but also how to navigate challenging situations and become an advocate for their students who have autism and other special needs.

 

Presenters Ailsa Wonnacott and Aza Fakhri are advocates with the Association for Community Living, serving Boulder & Broomfield Counties. Between them they have four decades of advocacy experience and in that time have attended thousands of IEP and other school meetings.

 

The session will help you:

 

• Understand the IEP process

• Know what makes a good IEP

• Monitor your child's progress in school

• Understand your role as an IEP team member

• Gain effective advocacy tools

• Understand and manage conflict
